Starting my freshman year in high school was a very intimidating time. One thing in particular that really frightened me was knowing that over summer leading into my senior year i was going to have to go to a real company and get a job working with professionals. That knowledge loomed over my head for the next three years in high school. Half way through my junior year I went to a presentation for seniors that had already completed his/her internships. During the presentation it was evident that the students that went out on their own had a much better time, and learned much more. The students that relied on the school to find them an internship seemed very bored with his/her job. That was when I really had to step up my search for an internship.

I have always know that I wanted to be involved in sales; problem being, it is a tough field to get an internship position with no experience required. I had called close to fifteen realty companies, ten car dealerships, and three sales representatives. After hearing plenty of "Ya, I'll get back to you" and "You do realize this is a sales company, right?" I started to get discouraged. With only two weeks of school left I needed a miracle to find a place to accept me on such short notice.

It was on Tuesday May 27th, that I got my miracle. My old neighbor and swim coach Kevin Woody was managing a small realty group in Cary. I called him and got his voicemail immediately.
After leaving him a message, I was eagerly waiting for a return that came just two days later. Thursday May 29th that call came; he was intrigued by the idea of hosting an intern over the summer and invited me to help set up and join in on his happy hour party the following friday.
Let the hazing begin! Only love hazing...:)
