My First House Showings!

I would like to start by saying showing a house to a potential buyer is one of the most stressful things that I have ever done. I am a very engaging person and love doing new things; but I was not looking forward to this one. My only knowledge of showing houses comes from countless of HGTV.

If I didn't have Jill with me, I do not know what would have happened. It is confidential for me to tell you anything about the client or show you any pictures of them. But they were very nice and they were looking at beautiful homes.

I am also not allowed to show you the houses they were looking at; however, I have compiled a list of photos of beautiful features within the houses.

The day was not quite as glamorous as the pictures. We had gotten to 5 out of our 6 houses when we realized the time constraint. Jill told the client to visit the last house and we would get a ride back to the office from there. It was a risky move that was worth the gamble. The buyers loved the last house more than all of the other houses by far!

They thanked us and told me that it was refreshing to here a young mans perspective on the house. Once they left Jill and I waited and talked about soccer until Kari came to pick us up. That was when the day took a turn for the worse. Jill realized that she had left her purse in the clients car. It ended up not being a big deal she met up with the client and had lunch with them later that day.

It was an amazing experience and I learned so much. I can't thank Jill enough for letting me join her! Thanks to all of you readers supporting me in my adventure!

Helping with the Go School

Today I came in to Kari. She told me in her text that she needed help with school, I showed up not knowing what she meant. When I got here at 10 she greeted me and told me that she needed help reorganizing the Go school. I had no idea what I was about to find, but I was not disappointed. After only looking through a few boxes I stubbled upon a wonderful artifact. It was a box full of party wigs. When Kari realized what the box had in store she told me to try some on and model them.

I think it is needless to say that I nailed the photo shoot. After a short break and a laugh we went back to the school room. We had to move all of the food and drinks out of the Garmin Homes kids lounge, and stock the fridges and shelves in the school. Kari has a sneaky strategy to keep the drinks safe from other employees; she will only stock the coolers about half full, giving it the appearance that there aren't many left.

After Kari and I finished, I logged onto one of the computers and began this blog when suddenly the music cut off. I was confused and sat in silence for about five minutes, at which point the television turned on with Wimbledon. So now I am trying to focus on this blog, while the longest and most exciting Wimbledon semi-final in history is on.

Thanks to all of you following "The Adventures of Toby the Intern"! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them!

Go Garner Preparation

The grand opening of the new office in Garner is just around the corner. The only problem was, we had no food or drinks for the attendees. Kari (Double O) Yono and I set out to fix that problem. Our first stop was BJ's; we had a long list to work on.
This is the cart that I was about to put under serious stress...
During our first trip inside of BJ's we were just getting non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for the party. Little did I know what that actually meant. We filled my cart within minutes and then realized that we (and by "we" I mean Toby The Pack Mule) needed to grab another.

A about thirty minutes later we had almost everything that we could possibly need. We had arrived at Kari's favorite part of shopping for parties, wine selection.

In the right edge of the picture notice Kari's empty cart...
I could not help Kari with the wine because, being 17 means you cant drink alcohol. So I am by no means the wine aficionado. Instead I made conversation with this nice lady handing out samples. She was in the middle of looking for a new house. I told her about the party and invited her. She said she would be there and thanked me for the invite, but never showed up at the party.

Meeting new people is what this business is all about!

With our carts full we decided that it was about time to head to Garner to drop off the load. By now I am assuming you would like to know why Kari is making this face...

This is the "wow that is a big number" face

This is where I had planned on ending the blog but I had no idea what was in store. We left the store and I rode the cart all of the way to my car. Which I had to use my Tetris skills to pack fully.

Within seconds of closing my trunk, guess who pulled up? Your neighborhood officer friendly. Kari asked for them to arrest me but they refused and walked into BJ's.

I was wondering how this situation would have differed if they had arrived minutes sooner.

Thanks for tuning into yet another blog in The Adventures of Toby the Intern!

First Interview - feat. Brenna

Today I woke up to find another wonderful rainy day this summer. I made some coffee and waited every possible minute that I could before leaving; waiting for a break in the rain. I finally mustered the courage to make a run for my car and drive down to Holly Springs.

The drive down to holly springs was very intimidating; after all, this was my first interview where i got to ask the questions. I knew that I had chosen the right person though. Brenna is very nice and very engaging. It was pleasantly surprising at how breathtaking the office was. The office is set up like a small coffee shop mixed with a breakfast cafe.

We began the interview and I opened with a vague question. I asked what her inspiration to become a Realtor was. Her answer was far and beyond what i had expected. For those of you who don't know, Brenna has seven children. She needed a job where time was flexible and she could spend time with her family. The interview was no more than 30 minutes but it was very enlightening.

The interview went quite swimmingly and i look forward to the next one. To anyone who works at go and would like a personal interview, Email me: Toby.Sutton.17@gmail.com. To everyone else who reads my blogs, thank you so much for your support! I hope you enjoyed it!
